Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Adruptly ("we", "us") runs a platform where businesses create advertisements that are shown on digital screens in restaurants and other venues in the San Francisco Bay Area. This policy explains what information we collect through the Adruptly website (adruptly.com), the Adruptly web and Android app, and the screen player used by venues, and how we use it.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address or username, the sign-in method you used (for example Google sign-in or a password), and, if you sign in with Google, your profile photo address. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them.

Business profile

Before you create an ad we ask for your business name, business sector, a short business description, a contact phone number, a contact email address, and optionally your website. We use these details to reach you about your ads.

Ad content

The images, videos, text, logos, colors, website links and other content you upload or enter when creating ads, together with the QR codes we generate for them.

QR code scans

When someone scans a QR code shown on a screen, we record the time of the scan, which ad and screen it came from, the scanning device's browser type (user agent), and a one-way hash of its network address. We use this only to count scans and remove duplicates, and we show you totals, not individual people.

Venue screens

For venues that run our screen player, we collect the screen account's name, location and contact details, and technical information from each screen such as device and browser type, player version, screen size, connection status and uptime.

Website visits

Our website counts page views and button clicks without cookies. To count unique daily visitors, our server combines your network address and browser type with a random value that changes every day and stores only the resulting hash; raw network addresses are never stored, and the hashes are deleted after the day ends. Your browser also stores a random identifier in local storage so we can tell whether a visit is a first visit.

Messages

If you email or call us, we keep the contents of that communication.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the service: create and store your ads, review and schedule them, and show them on venue screens.
  • To show you where your ads run and how many times their QR codes were scanned.
  • To contact you about your account and your ads.
  • To operate, secure and improve the service, including monitoring screen uptime and preventing abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it to show you advertising.

3. How information is shared

  • Public display of ads. Ads you create and that we schedule are shown publicly on screens in venues. Anything in the ad, including business names, phone numbers and links, is visible to people at those venues.
  • Service providers. We use Google Firebase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting of our server), Google Workspace (email) and GitHub (hosting of the Android app download). They process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Adruptly, our users, venues or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Adruptly is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. How long we keep information

We keep account, profile and ad information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, ads, uploaded media, QR codes and their scan records, and schedules for your ads from our systems right away, and your sign-in account is removed. Copies may remain for a limited time in backups kept by our service providers. We keep anonymous, aggregated information that does not identify you, such as screen uptime and website visit counts.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Access and update: view and edit your business profile in the app under Profile.
  • Delete: delete your account in the app under Profile, then Delete account, or follow the steps at adruptly.com/delete-account.
  • California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy, to request correction or deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Contact us to make a request; we will verify it using the email address on your account.

6. Children

Adruptly is a service for businesses and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

Information is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and stored with our service providers, who protect it with industry-standard security measures. Access to administrative functions is limited to the Adruptly team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
